Student Section DOESN'T = Class

i could see if they said f em in the a or something. but the cocks are the actual name, so what can you do? how are you supposed to tell em they suck without it sounding vulgar?

"hey football team that is named cocks but means a bird and not a dong, you suck!"

 

a guy behind me yelled "Hey Smelley! You stink!" it was funny as hell...or heck.

 

That south end zone...as classy as they come. although we are not allowed to stand up.

 

There is nothing wrong with the Cocks chant. We were making tongue in cheek comments all day.

The F Spurrier chants were just dumb, and if they started like one poster said when he challenged the 4th down, I mean are our students that stupid when it comes to football. Had that being reversed and Miles NOT challenged that it would have been F Miles!

 

LSU's is worse than other student sections.

Freshmen go to the game and hear that stuff and they think it is okay to do it when they are seniors...then new freshmen here it and so on and so on.

It will take a large stand and people need to change. It is embarrassing to me and when I had high school friends visit and they heard that stuff and found it offensive you know it is a bad thing.

 

To be perfectly clear:

When the "You suck Cocks" chant started, everyone around me, whether they joined in or not, was thinking the same thing. Don't defend it by saying "it's just their mascot!" That's like people calling us pussies in reference to our feline mascot (when really they aren't).

BTW I never clarified that I haven't ever even cheered "kick their @$$" on first down. I say LSU. I don't curse in my cheers, but I know not to expect perfection- just a different level of excellence than everyone else, because I want to be able to have people point at us and say, "There is a student section that has class and has a good time. We wish we could be like them." At the same time, we would be giving the University a (much-needed) good name in that regard.

 

Well, but it is the name of their mascot. They are the Gamecocks and "cocks" is part of their name. "Pussies" is not part of our name, so that argument really doesn't hold water.

but at the end of the day no matter what, it really is the mascot!
