Just kidding - it was just a joke pertaining to a scene from a 25-year old movie. But I can see how that reference might be lost on some of the youngsters round here. Perhaps there's a Pokemon movie that's more appropriate for this demographic?
Good manners are timeless regardless of if you’ve been drinking or not. I seriously doubt some of the guys defending this vulgarity would feel the same if their mother or little sister were sitting next to them. If you think I’m being overly sanctimonious, bring mom or sis to my house so I can get f’ed up and act obnoxious in front of them…what’s the difference anyway? If you feel you have the “right” to act like an azz in public, just remember that the rest of the world has the “right” to think you’re a drunken tard and not have to put up with your b.s..
When you buy a ticket to an LSU game you should know you are going to be around drunks. It's common sense. If you don't want to be around drunk people then you need to ask LSU to ban drinking instead of having the band stop playing songs. There is a difference between having your mother and sister at an LSU COLLEGE football game and having them over for tea and scones at your house.
Are you seriously saying that buying a ticket to a LSU game is a free ticket to acting like a drunk dipchit???? I have no problem with drinking a few. Hell, I don't care if someone gets hammered. That's their problem the next morning. I draw the line when others get affected by a drunk's actions. Making excuses for crude/drunken bad behavior is lame. You have a lot to learn.
Apparently I'm not the one that needs to learn. Did I ever say buying a ticket gives you the right to act like as 'dipchit'? Please quote me next time you want to twist my words. I said if you buy a ticket to an LSU game and expect the same respect you would get in say, Mass, you are in for a rude awakening. I was simply saying that you cannot use the, "I bet they would act differently in front of their Mothers", argument because it simply does not hold water at a college football game.
i drink every gameday and i don't yell obscenities in the stadium. drinking's not the problem, it's the fact that everyone can drink including unclassy d-bags.
I guess the same can be said about the band. It's not their music that makes people yell obscenities, but they seem to think that not playing the song will solve the problem.
I agree drinking isn't the issue. I don't want the student section to stop chanting "you suck" and carrying on but the cursing makes us look like stereotypical hick trash.
Excellent point regardless of event, venue, etc. One of my neighbors had a few and was making fun of the Saints yesterday. I bitchslapped da ho.
