LOL. I go to Nicholls, and BELIEVE me, USL blows Nicholls' parties out of the frickin galaxy. Lafayette (as much as I hate that damn place) has the BEST party scene outside of NOLA. On the other hand, Tulane is surprisingly...unique for this state. If you were to go to an Ivy League school, and party there, it wouldn't be much different than your typical Tulane parties. Not that that is really bad, just instead of everyone drinking Bud-light and listening to hank jr, they're drinking Warsteiner Premium Verum and listening to...uhmmm probably "intellectual" conversation about how much better they are than everyone else. In all actuality though, their parties are more "typical" (not necessarily by MY terms) of "college life" than anywhere else in the state. In other words, instead of your typical frat parties we have at LSU, ULL, Nicholls, etc., you have nice get togethers in little pubs--definately not bad for a change, especially if you enjoy import beers and modern (or not so modern) alternative music.
I've been on many party scenes; living in the Midwest the last 3 yrs I was able to checkout many colleges (Ohio St., Michigan, etc.) and cities (Chicago, Cincy, etc.). My job allows me multiple trips to Vegas, Boston, etc.. If the criteria are pretty girls, latest club music and fashion, and typical club behavior Lafayette should be up there. Growing up in S. Louisiana I took all the pretty girls, crazy Cajuns, party mentality, etc... for granted, and just thought it was like that EVERYWHERE. Everybody smirks when I compare Lafayette's scene to the likes of some big cities or colleges, but man somebody would be surprised if they can make a comparison with their own eyes.
B/c once your ACT goes above 28, you start to forget about women and beer . . . Once you get a bunch of teenagers away from home, you've got a party school. Especially those honor roll types that come off the chain once they've hit campus. Gosh, I've heard Louisiana College is wilder than (get ready) La Tech.
I didn't know kids with ACT's over 28 went to Tulane, either. Do not confuse Tulane grad programs with their undergraduate school. These are two different, way different, animals. Most Tulane undergraduates are in the "University College". It's a we'll take anyone program. Truly a "pay your fees, get yer B's" set up. Tulane is accepting undergraduate students who were unable to enter LSU.
This I'm well aware of, I've got a master's from Tulane. Yeah, I've heard all about UC. My point was that it doesn't matter how smart someone is, youngin's are gonna want to party. It's also no shocker why Tulane would be highly ranked. Let's not forget what city it is in. And in case you start bringing up Dillard or Loyola, remember which University has the biggest enrollment in the city.
