  2. David Palmer. Dude was everywhere in the vinyl days but notably with Jethro Tull. Did a lot of compositions and sit-ins with the likes of Carol King and so on.

Early Steely Dan was famous for having sit-ins on vocals cause then, Fagan was shy of the spotlight. Wasn't till years after and a few tours he finally got comfortable and sang his tunes. For that, Steely Dan was once a very hard ticket to get cause they toured so little.
  3. Thanks what a treat. I knew Michael McDonald sang backup on Peg, it was good to hear his insight. Here is my favorite Steely Dan song:

A very close second: "Drink scotch whiskey all night long"

I routinely include AJA in my mix of CD's to play when I'm out on the patio relaxing.:thumb:

  4. Steely Dan seems to be a "love them or hate them" type of band.

I LOVE them. Aja is close to a perfect album as far as I'm concerned.

  5. Wow, that's good stuff.
  6. Had to be included with Abby Road, Rumours, etc. as one of the all time great albums.
  7. I think Dirty Work is a beautifully crafted song, but I can't get past the fact it doesn't have Fagan on vocals and therefore sounds nothing like a Steely Dan song.

Deacon Blues, wow, what a song. Hard to pick a favorite of Steely Dan, but this would be on the short list for sure.
