Talking about the bonghorns, lets not forget that Mack Brown is the guy that had "Big 12 Co Champs" rings made for his team a few years ago when they didn't even win the thing. OU had won the confrence and ended up with the same record at the shorthorns but beat them head to head. I think it was the tail end of the 5 year string Bobby Stoops put on them. Pathetic Mack, just plain sad.
my grandpaw always said "just let an idiot keep talking and he will prove just how stupid he/she is"... insert radio call in shows... </thread>
With all due respect to our Buckeye fans, let's look at the flip side of this: What exactly has OSU done to deserve a BCS title shot over the likes of USC, Georgia, etc.? A 11-1 record with wins over 3 teams at the bottom of the Top 25 at the time the games were played and a laughable OOC? LSU has played 7 with a 6-1 record, none below #17 at the time. Ohio State has benefited every bit as much as LSU by teams losing at the right time, plus the advantage of not playing a title game. So how is it automatically assumed that they're head and shoulders above the rest but LSU isn't?
Actually the Aggie group I work with and talk to all the time have been very congratulatory about the whole thing while the Longhorn folks have been the ones to pop off about we don't deserve it and if we played Texas, yada yada yada. I told them that we could have said the same thing the year they won the championship. If you would have played LSU or the SEC conference you might not have been in that game. They didn't care for it to much. Course since A&M beat Texas the world is all good to them right now. B
There were not two undefeated teams in 1998. Ohio State got screwed and an inferior Florida State team was matched up against Tennessee. Florida State got crushed my Miami early in the season while Ohio State lost close in the first week of November. We're still hurting over that loss to Michigan State particulalry since we destroyed Michigan in the last game of the season that year.
Sorry Tiger fans but gotta take this one on. It'll be short and sweet. Ohio State SOS 48 USC SOS 80 So who's playing all the cupcakes? And Virginia? There's one to strike fear into the hearts of many. Bet you'll claim them as a "quality" win.
In a strange kind of way Herbie did us a big favor. He brought national attention to our SECCG/Head Coach and Michigan incompetence/political infighting(Lloyd Carr, etc). CLM handled it honestly which is always the best way. From a PR stand point it was a stroke of genius. We now have ESPN Herbie having to apologize for his blunder. And by the way, I truly believe Herbie was an honest bystander by what he has said. I also think we have a new friend in Herbie because of how CLM handled it. The Loons from the Detroit Free Press and UM have egg on their face for how many of them are trying to spin it as another Saban money move. So it's a win/win for our Tiger program. Now lets win the dang NC and add some top recruits who want to help us win more NC's at LSU in front of our great fan base.
No, hate at all. Just can't stand disrespect. LSU and Ohio State deserve to be where they are and the guy from USC made my point for me by saying he's been waiting to play OSU again since 1985. Then claims that we're not the biggest game on every regular season opponents schedule? Yeah, right. The Big Ten and Pac 10 have a rich and intertwined tradition. So do the other power conferences.
That guy for USCw is actually a lady, and believe me, she can hold her own. :thumb: Better back up any smack with facts or she will definitely call you out. She may do that anyway.
