It sure would have an impact LSU is playing without a point guard right now! Voogd is not that good because he turns the ball over to much and picks up his dribble to soon. Mitchell is a shooter and not a point guard he needs to get shots alot of them for LSU to have a chance. We need someone who will penetrate the lane and dish or pull up for a jumper. Tack is our man but did he improve any from last year? He certainly will take a while to get back into the swing of things. He has not been able to practice all year! You will really see what kind of player he is this year and see if he is dedicated to helping this team and getting better as a player. IMO I think he will do just fine we need him playing good basketball soon though!
Are you kidding me have you gone to any games that he has played in? You are not confusing him with Xavier Whipple huh?:hihi:
I'm not sure why you have that impression of Voogd. He is tied for 2nd in assists and is 2nd in assists/TO ratio with 1.5 per game. He is only playing 18 minutes per game and is a true freshman. He'll provide valuable minutes off the bench and is our point guard of the future.
As for Minor's impact on this team ... we need a PG and Minor is the only answer for this year. If he plays the role of PG and not scorer and limits his turnovers, this team will do good things this year. If he plays like he has in the past, it could be a frustrating season...
one thing that always scares me about phyisically talented teams and players is their tendency to want to just go nuts full throttle and do something awesome but risky. tyrus thomas is a good example. you can tell he wants to throw down a mammoth dunk from some crazy place on the court. and that is awesome, but it cant always be showtime. so thats sort of the problem with tack. that dude is so fast and skilled, that he makes me nervous about getting ahead of himself. sometimes he plays like he wants to be michael vick when he should chill out and be more like tom brady. control the ball, make the good decisions. chill out, win games. but still, i am glad he is back and he definitely brings some speed to a team that has the horses to move and score quickly. plus putting Dmitch back at his normal position is big. i expect Dmitch to bomb threes like a madman all season, i would rather not have him dealing will ball handling and bringing the team down the court. hopefully tack will use his speed to run into the lanes that lead to passes down low to big baby. i am as excited as anything about this season.
umm, this cat is right on. If you're into speedy, out of control basketball players with sick cutting moves to the basket skills, and absolutely, positively no idea what to do with the ball when he gets there, Tack's your guy. Otherwise, he isn't bringing buptkus. . . Hard to say so, but our turnovers will only increase with Tack in the game.
What has he been doing in Houston and not practicing with the team? if this is true i think it is a disaster. no team wants a guy to come in that has not been working with them and try to take over. And that is Minor's personality, to come in and try to do to much. This could be a disaster for this team and they could easily turn on each other. And i would never expect Brady to hold a team together. I hope I am wrong but this is my thoughts, he should have been in BR with the team wether he was working out in Houston or not.
He was not allowed to practice with or have anything to do with the team. And since he was out of school, he didn't have scholarship money for room and board to stay in BR.
C. Brady said he has to earn his way back to the starting lineup. Tac would provide more combination for c. Brady but we have a lot more weapon now so Tac needs to learn how to play team game. Tac is good point guard but he has a tendency in trying to win the game by himself. I hope he improves quite a bit from last year.
