Yes, it would be a fun bowl to go to. LSU v. Okie St. in the Cotton Bowl next year? It would be a great and a close game, I'm sure. Could go either way. If Les Miles in our coach, I will consider LSU's 2005 season to be a HUGE success if LSU appears in any bowl game that is played on or after 31 Dec 05. My expectations of getting a big name new HC were very high. My expectations for the new coach, whoever he is, are very moderate and reasonable. I believe that new coaches need a few years to implement their programs. Question for Ok St fans: Don't you think that you'll be fine if your new coach is Coach Gundy?
And Gerry DiNardo had a relatively respectable record at Vanderbilt, which is also a notoriously difficult place to win at. We could make comparisons like this all day. What's your point?
No, this is fair. I mean, how can you slam Miles for coming from a program like OSU without paying attention to the last guy who won consistently at that job. JJ. He did kinda okay once he left OSU. Howard Schellenberger at Miami = Nick Saban at LSU (?) If so, JJ = Les Miles at LSU (?) Sure would be nice, eh?
Sorry, Reagan, that someone pushed your buttons. Thanks, by the way, for being a contributor to this site. I'm sure you guys will be solid next year, but there's little chance that LSU finishes second in the West next year ,so no Cotton in 2006. PS-Hey, do you guys happen to have an open date on Nov. 5? Just askin.
It seems to me that a head coaches success also depends on a lot of other factors, including whether he has got the right or wrong assistant coaches, the right combination of players, and of course, the intangibles. That might explain why the big names at one point in their careers had mediocre records. ________ MOTORCYCLE TIRES
The amount of facts that continue to shoot down these "Miles is a horrible hire" talk is great. Keep up the great work!
