Notre Dame offered Meyer $1.2 million per year. $1.2 mil would rank about 8th among SEC head coaches salaries. Meyer was probably insulted by the offer. Florida will be paying him $2 million per.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Butch Davis end up at Notre Dame. Even though I can't stand Miami, you have to give him credit for rebuilding that program. If anyone can rebuild ND, you could do a whole lot worse than Butch Davis.
I don't think you will see Davis in South Bend. Word is he got a huge buyout from the Browns and will probably take a year off.
