On the keeping Skyler Fresh for returns thing. Doesn't matter if we don't get some stops before he can return punts. But if we let them score enough I guess He can lead the nation in kick returns.
Reguardless of the rumors are true are not, I don't think it's productive for our players to start making comments like that outside of the locker room.
True - but the players making comments are young college kids who are bound to have some emotional reactions. The coaches get payed a pretty penny for their part in it all, part of which is establishing an environment in which happy, young players don't need to vent outside the locker room.
Well, it's a double-edged sword... Miles' way of doing things will be more accepted when and if it starts producing win after win. The only problem is that you need these players to execute the system and keep them somewhat happy...or at least talk to them about it.
Well, change is never a truely welcomed thing...especially when you're forced to do it like we were. We didn't change because things were bad (unlike 99% of every other head coaching job out there). Offensively, obviously, Tatum Bell and Verand Morency had success in Miles I-formation offense....as did Rashaud Woods. I guess it's just different when you are already entrentched in a particular system and/or way of doing it, and you were a part of it when it was tramendously successful ('03), so you (the players) view that way (pre-Miles) as the only way to gain success again. Obviously, whatever it is Miles is telling recruits, it's working (landing RP and other top players in '05 and already having 13 early commitments for '06) . I mean, you don't go to a school if you don't like their offense/defense. A good way to run off recruits is to not hold up your end and run something that is completely different from what you have been saying. And I just don't see THAT being the case...Even the most anti-Miles fan would say that he's not THAT dumb.
You have to take it all with a grain of salt. Some folks have legitmate contacts and others don't. Based on what we've seen so far, it's quite feesible these comments could have been made. It basically becomes more a philisophical debate with a certain measure of suspended disbelief.
