1. We should start selling coaching insurance to schools.

  2. The premiums would have to be sky high to cover all the claims you would have to pay.

  3. Yeah it would be because the risk is very high.
  4. If Jimbo does go to College Station, it can only be viewed as yet another giant failure on the part of our administration.

It means he was willing to leave, which I have to admit, I thought he wasn't, but LSU couldn't get him.
  5. I wouldn’t have been happy paying that much. This could blow up in their face.

  6. plus, just because he's willing to leave this year has nothing to do with last year... maybe they made him some promises that they have yet to follow-up on... all the talk was he's been trying to get them to upgrade their facilities... maybe they're moving too slow or not at all... i just remember fans wanting him run out of town because of all of the damn bubble screens he ran and now he's lombardi...

  7. You wouldn't have had to pay it. LSU would. I don't care if they pay a coach $20 million if he wins
  8. ...if he wins; you said a mouthful there, sister.
  9. Are you kidding? I wouldnt trade 2 Jimbo's for one O.

  10. As fans we want our team to win and given that all schools only have so much to spend towards that end, it's in the interest of fans to want their favorite school to make fiscally sound decisions.

So yes, spending a lot on a top HC can work, but it can also fail and there are repercussions (not just fiscal) to firing a HC which can hurt the school in future efforts to win. LSU paying CLM to dream about his future glory is bad enough. I hope that LSU doesn't strike out two or three times in a row.
