    from your article:

"the anti-spending organization isn't waiting with baited breath."

the idiot who wrote your article should be aware that the term is "bated", like abated, or reduced.

What were the earmarks? Could it not have been a way for them to get money that federal money would be set aside for anyway? If you haven't noticed, a lot of bills for stuff that actually matters get hung up in Congress.

Earmarks are made to designate where the money goes.

If it's not earmarked then it just goes back to the executive branch to spend on whatever.

They should earmark all of it for debt.

Times have changed. Earmarks were an accepted way of doing business. No way in hell any Republican was getting earmarks for FY 2010 but why should they just let the dems feed at the trough all alone.

For FY 2011 tea partiers will fight tooth and nail to end the pork but I doubt they'll go away.

All the Tea Party is is a bunch of goons who think they know how to spend my money, just like the dumb ass democrats, and the dumb ass republicans. They are all, in it for themselves, and no one else. All of them. Every last f'n one of them.

The difference is the Tea Party folks want to take less of your money and only spend it on things allowed by the Constitution.

They are the only group I have heard about proposing we do things that will actually attack the deficit long term, such as cutting Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and Defense.
