First, I have always hated the cowboys. However, it seems like I will have to change my attitude since they now have Spears, Peterman, and James. Also, I saw that they drafted Barber from Minnesota. I saw this guy run in their bowl game and all I can say is that he is a fricken monster. With the Tuna leading this team, they will do very well this year.

DYluke, Spears was recruited as a TE, Saban convinced him to play DE. For a big guy, he can move. Also could have played Basketball.

The Hawkeye take on Spears is that we were thankful he wasn't at full speed during our bowl game. We did get to see him being interviewed and he is well-spoken, thoughtful.... and has a genuine smile that will get him places in his life after football.

He is more of the proto-type DE, as opposed to Roth, who might be a little small for a DE at the next level... and, Tygertail, you're right on Barber from the Goophies... the guy is a pro back.... just wasn't on a team that got a lot of press.

I think Roth would make a great OLB in a 3-4 kind of like Terrell Suggs in Baltimore.

Spears will make the Bungels regret picking David Pollack over him.

I am thrilled to have Marcus here in Dallas. I was so nervous after the Cowboys did not pick him at 11.

    Dyluke --
My highlight of Marcus' play at LSU will always be the interception he ran back for a TD in the NC game. Obviously, he is an exceptional athlete.

The Tigers loss is the Cowboys gain. Just one interview with Marcus and you know what kind of person he is. Also, from a scouting standpoint he's strong, quick, has a great motor and knows the game. He's exactly the kind of DE you want dropping on a zone blitz because he reads Qb's well and has great hands (just ask Jason White). And he rushes the QB well and as a knack for making big plays. I've never liked the Cowboys in the 80's and 90's but with Parcells and a few former Tigers on the squad, I don't wish total despair to them. :helmet: :thumb:

as you're probably aware, Parcells tried moving up abuot 5 spots so make sure he got Spears but the ones in question had none of it. Then when it was within 2-4 spots he said they just had top hope and pray and then he fell in their lap.

gotta love it when your top 2 guys end up on your team.

Do they have good fishing in Dallas? They'd better or he's not going to be happy.
