    Q. Why do Tennessee players and fans wear orange ?

    A. Because you can wear it to the game on Saturday, hunting on Sunday, and picking up trash on the side of the highway the rest of the week.!

    I kill me.

Great post - UT fans should be embarrassed and ashamed about the prison riot that is Tennessee Football these days. But, like the Auburn fans who justified all the Tubby nonsense through the years, they will turn their heads and whine about Alabama.

Finally some sports journalists with some balls and some honest insight are starting to pop their heads over the fence. If the media can kiss Phil's ass for being a "master recruiter," they damn well should be writing stories about him being an incompetent leader and disciplinarian for these young adults.

Note to NCAA: There is an big Orange Flag a-wavin' on Rocky Top - you might want to look into it...

Note to Larry Coker and the University of Miami: I'm faxing over my conratulations - you are no longer Thug U (for now).

I think one got out-cheated by the other and ratted them out to the NCAA.

That writer for the Mobile Register is definately NOT an Alabama fan. I think he is an ole miss fan if I remember correctly, maybe even a chicken fan but I know for sure he isnt a Alabamer fan.

The recruiting scandal/NCAA Mess/Law suits are completely different and I dont think this article is related in any way. The truth will ultimately come out if the NCAA doesnt settle with the ex-bama coaches. After what happened in the Nuheisal case though I think the chances for settlement are very good so we may never known the whole truth if that happens.

What else is the man going to do? If he booted all the criminals from the team, plus you add in all the injuries and they couldn't even field a Division 1 J.V. team. . .:hihi:

    Great article! My favortie part:

"...some of Tennessee's most ardent fans are going to need a refresher course from that fourth-grade arithmetic lesson they repeatedly failed before their daddies bought off the elementary school teacher with a bottle of homemade moonshine. "

Wow...just got this one emailed to me by a Clemson co-worker. Pretty scathing article on Phatso for a Tenn newspaper. Click the link for the entire article.

You know, any team can have a Cecil Collins come along now and then. But 11 arrests in a year is a serious problem.

I love the quote on UT's Scout.com site where a fan says that by this rate, every student will get beaten up by a football player at the end of their four years...

update on 2 of these UT scholars:

Prosecutors in Knoxville, Tenn., dropped a felony aggravated-assault charge against defensive end Robert Akers of Tennessee and reduced the charge against linebacker Jerod Mayo yesterday in a case stemming from a fight at a campus party last March.

The two, who redshirted last season as freshmen, were charged with hitting another student when fights broke out between football players and members of Omega Psi Phi fraternity.

The charge against Mayo was dismissed after a witness would not cooperate with prosecutors. The charge against Ayers was reduced to misdemeanor assault. He pleaded guilty to that charge and now has nearly 12 months to pay court costs and make restitution to the victim.

Coach Phillip Fulmer announced yesterday that Ayers, who had been suspended, will rejoin the team but will sit out the first two games (damn we're their 3rd game) of the season, complete community service and anger-management counseling and abide by a curfew during the fall semester. Mayo was not suspended; Fulmer has said he believed that Mayo was misidentified. :hihi: :hihi:
