VCRs are so last century! You need a Tivo! I actually have a dinner I can't get out of attending Saturday (long story, and short of slicing off a finger I have to go). But I have the game already scheduled to record on a Tivo. And when I get home (probably around 8:30pm or so) I can start watching the game from the beginning, while the Tivo finishes recording the game. And with the 30 second skip option enabled, I can skip the normal 2 minute commercial breaks in just a couple of seconds, and even the "dead" time between the end of a play and the start of the next play. I've watched entire football games in less than 90 minutes, and I've seen every single play of the game. I'll probably catch up to "live tv" before the game ends if I wind up skipping half-time.
The big thing to remember is to not turn on the game in the car, so that when I get home I don't know anything about what's happened in the game.
bolobolo, I just recalled that you are my best friend from grade school(high school?, college?, trade school? work?) and I am very seriously ill. As you may recall, I just lost my wife. Anyway, I need you to be a pal and pull the plug for me on Saturday. Hope you'll be there for me buddy.
No...but if you're a guy, and you happen to flash a military ID while reaching for your license, that's almost guaranteed to get you out of a ticket. I had that happen at least twice. Man, they treat you like a fraternity brother.
My dad always told me that if I got married during football season, he couldn't guarantee to walk me down the aisle. I was married in November of '99, during a bye-week for the then-weak Tigers. And, Brett is right about the Tivo. I have Direct TV now, and I can "PVR" things. It's great to record, then skip right through commercials. It sort of makes watching things in "real time" excrutiating.
