Of course I want the LSU football program to succeed. However, I'm simply stating that it will not experience continued success if the longstanding offensive trends continue and I fully expect the atrocities on offense to continue. Many realize that and agree with the inevitability that such extreme offensive predictability will bring along with it. To deny the coming downfall is to deny reality. Just like practically every other fan, I wish the needed changes would be made immediately. Les Miles has proven that he will never take the steps to improve this stagnant and regressing offense.
You're telling your age Stacey.... You are right about our fanbase, no matter what happens some fans love to be miserable, and wish for collapse so they can say they were right. I have been hearing these fans since the early 70's and it makes me wonder why they even follow LSU sports. I like the position we are in because I remember the 80's & 90's, it was tough to watch sometimes. I think Les is good for OUR school and program. If we clean up some stuff and grow in some areas, we will be back on top. So many people (including me) bought into the pre-season hype and thought Bama was our only obstacle to another MNC. This team offensively is not ready for that without some growth. Too bad we couldn't fix it during the early games. We can still salvage the season even if we don't make the NC game.
Les Miles refuses to remove the obstacles that would enable this team to grow offensively, with the main obstacle being the iron fist with which he controls every aspect of the offense. Of course the offense is capable of growth. However, has is not been definitively proven that this growth will NEVER occur under Les Miles? He's too stubborn and stuck in the abyss of his antiquated and failing offensive strategies. Strategies isn't necessarily the correct term to label his offensive failures. You get the point I'm sure.
I said prior to the season that we have an unproven qb, an sec schedule people wrongfully assume is relatively easy and the first five games will only give us a false sense of where we are once we head into the swamp against a barely above average sec team. I don't think ufs defense is special either much less great either as some are saying. We make most defenses look good regardless. Also I'd prefer to have a legit game early like Oregon regardless the personnel. The team prepares harder in the offseason and the intensity is there from the get go. Win or lose. we approached this season like we we were playing N Texas or Towson state. Not Bama or USCe. Same goes for the coaches.
Exactly, Florida will lose multiple games this season and will give up big points. Florida's defense didn't do anything special, LSU's offense was just that bad.
You know, we played a pretty horrible game, but Florida's no slouch...especially on defense and ST. They are a slightly watered down version of 2011 LSU. Their biggest weakness will be lack of RB depth down the stretch. Gillislee is a beast, but he's only one man.
Despite having one of the top statistical defenses in the country after facing the top two offenses in the SEC whilst everyone else is padding up on cupcakes? They were good. We were worse, but they were good.
