No more than I am in fear that the boat will sink because I carry a life preserver. Something could always happen. Being prepared for the eventually doesn't mean you walk around in fear.
Little different there bro. How often have you had a gun pulled on you going to the store? How often have you been in danger of drowning in a boat. Come on you can do better than that.
Once I got caught in so rough weather in the gulf in a small boat and there was the possibility of overturning. Once out of the hundreds of times I have been in a boat. I have never had a gun pulled on me while going to a store. A guy I knew got murdered in the 90's when the robber shot him after he gave him his money. Another friend got murdered in the 70's while driving a taxi. In both cases the money the robbers got was less than $50.
Man I thought it was brilliant. Technically you're in danger of drowning ANY time you're in a boat- assuming it's not on a trailer and in the yard.
Then I'm lost. Person carries life vest in case boat sinks. There's always a chance. Person carries a gun in case of threat on life. There's always a chance.
