Not surprised this didn't work out. Both sides were adamant about their positions. Interesting to see what happens with A&M now. In a perfect world, we would spin them back around to the once again viable Big 12. Unfortunately, both the conference and A&M seemed intent on damaging the relationship before leaving. I HATE that the SEC has added two teams and is now the biggest conference with a watered down product now that no other alignment may happen.
No other major alignment, but there has been alignment. The Pac-10 has already added 2. Big 10 added 1. ACC added 2. And now it looks as if the SEC is set on adding 2.
Doubtful that atm will be sent back. This depends on what happens to the big 12. If they fire bebe and talk texass off of that stupid network (something that is going to have to happen anyway because the Pac 12 won't have it either) then it would be really tough for Mizzou to turn their backs on a big 12 that will stick around. Their (Mizzou) president is the head of the big 12 conference after all. That would really be a knife in the back. If...IF all that happens and the big 12(9) stays put, then baylor, iowa st, et al will probably drop their suit and allow atm to run along to the SEC.
If Missouri stays in the Big 12, take me out of my Big 10 misery and invite Penn State to join the SEC! (hey, a guy can dream)
Just called Dish and they said they had no plans to add the Longhorn Net to their listings at this time. Sadly that will probably change. I think there is too much money for them to ignore it.
Texas will NOT be able to continue on doing what they're doing. Equal profit share is the only way to creates a stable conference. The SEC was the first or one of the first to do it and it's one of the reasons why the SEC has been so successful. It keeps everyone happy and everything fair. If Bear didn't force the SEC for unequal shares during the years he was winning at Bama, what makes Texas think they have the right? The BEST move right now to put Texas in their place is if OU, OKState, and TT all jumped to the Pac-12. That leaves Texas alone in a crumbling conference and really puts the pressure on them to play ball or be left to go independent (which they don't want to do).
