Human polls are 2/3 i believe? But LSU isn't going to get jumped in the human polls if they win out and beating UGA should be pretty helpful. Speaking of, where will UGA be ranked after this weekend?
Georgia beating GTech next week should get them in the top 10, as well as the computer polls Florida beating FSU would be very helpful also
No quality wins anymore, it just hurts like hell if we aren't playing a top 10 team, versus what would be a #18 or #19 team if they lost. And especially in the computer polls where we need the most help.
Looking at the computer polls, USC could serve as a buffer between Penn State at the #2 spot and LSU at the #4 spot, which could conceivably allow Penn State to hold on the the #2 spot in the BCS, even after a win over GA. But then again, USC may hold on to the #2 spot in most of the computer polls and Penn State be #3. That would ensure LSU takes the #2 spot in the BCS after a GA win. It basically gets crazy between LSU, Penn State and USC for the #2 spot in the BCS.
Looks like we will all be die hard Georgia fans next Saturday then. Something about that is fundamentally bothersome, but not quite as much as Corso's prediction that USF takes out West Va and ends up in the Sugar.
Not sure if you've already mentioned it, but that would be countered by losing the buffer with Miami between LSU and Penn State. LSU should also pass Ohio State in the computers before the end of the year. It will be very close though.
correct, we automatically gain 1 entire spot on Penn State in the computer polls with the Miami loss, as I think they buffered us from Penn State in every one of the computer polls LSU only needs to be within 2 spots in the computer polls from Penn State, on average, to be a virtual tie in the BCS standings...so even if USC can hold on to the #2 spot in half of the computer polls, then LSU will more than likely be closer than 2 spots away on average from Penn State, allowing LSU to slip into the #2 spot in the BCS after the win over GA everyone watch the human polls, as Penn State should NOT have gained a single vote closer to LSU ...Miami was ahead of LSU by nearly every voter, so the Miami loss should be a wash for both LSU and Penn State, no gain, no loss between the 2 teams But we would need USC to fall to #4 behind Penn State, otherwise USC holds on to the #2 spot in the BCS...so it's real tricky and unsure footing for LSU Of course if the voters still want to see UT vs USC, then USC could fall to only #2 in the polls.
