LSU only needs to be within 2 spots in the computer polls from Penn State, on average, to be a virtual tie in the BCS standings...so even if USC can hold on to the #2 spot in half of the computer polls, then LSU will more than likely be closer than 2 spots away on average from Penn State, allowing LSU to slip into the #2 spot in the BCS

everyone watch the human polls, as Penn State should NOT have gained a single vote closer to LSU ...Miami was ahead of LSU by nearly every voter, so the Miami loss should be a wash for both LSU and Penn State, no gain, no loss between the 2 teams

But we would need USC to fall to #4 behind Penn State, otherwise USC holds on to the #2 spot in the BCS...so it's real tricky and unsure footing for LSU

am i missing something? why would it be strange for Penn St to gain on LSU this week? they beat a decent team and lsu beat a crappy team.

I'll bet Penn State gets a little bump from the day-long coverage on ESPN.

We've already seen Penn State, Notre Dame and Texas get big bumps in the polls after winning "Gameday" games.

Why the hell were they in East Lansing anyway?

I'm also assuming most places in the east/midwest saw Clemson/Carolina on espn2 instead of LSU/OM.
