Shouldn't there be a thread that these posts are copied to for that sort of thing? I third the motion.
Perhaps a Roundtable thread. People can nominate posts throughout the year as post of the year candidates. At the end of the month, we can decide on a monthly candidate... meh... something fun to do I guess while reading the forum.... tiga is a post whore so he'd probably love to get the thread going.
I can't believe grad is actually up for this. I was going to say I would start the thread and keep up with it but I though you would rag on it.
So how long do we wait for an email ban? With phones these days, text and emails are basically the same thing. So much for the old-fashioned recruiting.
I think the problem was that they are getting so many text messages that they are having to pay crazy high fees. E-mails are not paid on a per message basis.
I dont have email on my phone but it is free to get them if I wanted to? I guess it is a plan where you dont have to pay per message.
Is there such a thing as text whores......or....like.....email whores??? Good point you raise bhelm, made me stop and think (Not something I normally care to do). I understand the similarity but would guess the significant difference is that most of these young bucks probably carry phones 24-7 and it's instant access; whereas, not so much as with access through internet. Just a guess though. Example: I've read where a certain coach would call kids they were recruiting when they knew they'd just completed a game. With email, there would be a greater time span between when it was sent and when they received it- I'd guess late the next morning when they wake up from a night out with the boys after the game.
not from the financial standpoint. and i dont know if that was taken into consideration. since plans vary, but incoming texts count in the total allowed in the text plan or are charged just as outgiong texts. kids can choose not to answer a call and thus not get charged, or e-mails not costing more than the basic internet service, but that text coming through is gonna hit them whether they want it or not. i can see where that could get expensive for families. over-zealous recruiting could easily cause some budget pinches for more than a few families.
