Sounds good to me. I do not think there will be that big of a difference between the polls to really have to decide between them. I figure you know what games could be expected to be even matchups at or around the top 25 or top 40.

Also I am sure you would still want everyone to post their per week record after the games in case a recount is needed.

Thanks for taking the load this year.

if you're interested, you can take a look at the spreadsheets that i'll be using to track TF PICK 'EM this year. The spreadsheets will be available online for you guys (and gals) to view throughout the season so you can (a) double check my data entry of your picks and (b) see where you (and others) stand each week.

    There are two sheets.

    1. The first sheet is a summary of all games that takes your 12 game picks each week and rolls them up to a weekly total.
    2. The second sheet is the weekly picks sheet where the data entry is done to calculate your win/loss for all 12 games each week.
Both sheets also do group totals to show how we fared as a group for each game (on the weekly) and as a whole for each week (on the summary).

Guidelines and first week's games are coming this weekend, so get ready to play!!!!

    here's the spreadsheet jump:

The important thing is that the games represent good match-ups. No rent-a-wins. When I did it I used the Las Vegas odds to determine which games would be on the list. Usually any game that had more than a 10 point spread did not make the list, and I tried to keep it to 7 point spreads or under.

Way too many blowouts in that list. Lines should be 7 or less to make it more challenging otherwise, all of us will be picking 7 or so of the same teams each time which isn't a "good thing". I would also say no FCS teams should be in the game which is probably only a problem for the first couple of weeks with 1 or 2 exceptions. I don't care about one matchup from each conference. I would prefer to having 10 more or less pick'em type of games to choose from to really help us see who is adept or not at the picks.

As I indicated in a previous post, use www.vegasinsider.com to make your picks. It will give you the spread in plenty of time to post your choices. As a matter of fact, they alread have the spreads for the games from August 28-30. LSU/Appy State is not listed, possibly because the odds-makers suspect it will be such a blow-out that they are not giving it any odds. At any rate, I definately would not choose what games are going to be included on the board by my own "guestemate."

I checked www.vegasinsider.com and found that there are 12 games that have a spread of 7 points or less. I would stick with a ten-game board. Twelve games might be tough to come by some weeks.

yeah, it thought the same thing about the blowouts. i was trying to accommodate suggestions that had been sent. that's why i posted the list - to get other's opinions. i've worked up two other week 1 games list. i'll check them against vegas odds and come up with a less predictable list.

i may stay with 12 games. the 2 extra spots could be filled with extra sec games. i got several requests for more sec games in the weekly list.

so i'll post another sample list in a little while, and we'll see if you guys like it better. if not, i'll seed further advice. if so, i'll know what track to take each week to make the forum happy.

p.s. thank you guys for your patience with me on this. as important as it is, the game picking part of this was the only part i was unsure of. your suggestions and guidance are truly appreciated.
