If you guys get there early, you might be able to grab a spot there. Might. FWIW, I've always recommended people park off of Campus drive. It's about a quarter of a mile walk, maybe more, to the stadium but it's also a walk through the campus.

If any of you guys are in town Friday night that would be the time to set the tailgate up.

You might want to consider taking advantage of some of the houses that are West of the stadium. Yes, you'll have to pay 10 bucks to park there but if someone got there early and coughed up a hundred or so you could make it a total LSU little group. It's the best plan I've seen yet...a group from OU did it when they visited and had a nice little get-together before the game. Hell, the people that owned the house even allowed the group to use their "facilities." With one caveat, they said, "Don't allow anyone from Auburn in." :thumb:

FWIW, when I talked with a friend in the T-town PD Monday they said they were anticipating about 150K to show up for the weekend. You'll be looking at 55-65K people without tickets, tailgating for the game. It's going to be a great weekend!!

To add one thing, parking/tailgating around Campus drive makes it a 4-5 minute walk to the Soccer field where the big screen TV will be set up for those that don't have tickets.

In the daily email that TAF sends out, they had good information about traveling to Tuscaloosa and tailgating. I'm not sure if those that don't get the TAF emails can view the website, so I'm going to post all of the information here (I apologize for the length of the message in advance):

Important Information for those traveling to Tuscaloosa

RV PARKING

Please note that there are NO remaining reserve RV spaces on the University of Alabama campus. All reserve RV spaces have already been sold, and RV parking is only allowed within these designated areas. Please visit the RV Info section for a list of alternate off-campus campgrounds and contact information.

Note that the RV entry time for all on campus lots is 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Please refrain from arriving on campus until the 6:00 p.m. entry time, as there is no staging of RVs allowed on campus.

If you will be arriving to Tuscaloosa before 6:00 p.m. on Friday, the Northington RV lot located behind the Bruno’s Supermarket on McFarland Blvd. will be open beginning Thursday morning and is free of charge.

TRAFFIC
Traffic Tip of the Week: Traveling from the Birmingham area to the game? If you are traveling from the Birmingham area and the first leg of your route allows you to take either I-20/59 or I-459, your travel time may be shorter if you use I-20/59 and travel through the Bessemer area toward Tuscaloosa. By taking I-20/59 from Birmingham to Tuscaloosa, you will avoid the merging delays that occur on I-459 prior to the intersection of I-459 and I-20/59.

Roads within the core campus area will begin closing at 1:00 p.m. on Gameday this weekend. Go to www.uagameday.com for a complete listing of street closings around campus. Those with parking passes within the blocked off areas will be allowed through the blocked streets. These roads will re-open after the game at a time determined by law enforcement.

For up-to-the-minute Gameday traffic information, stay tuned to the pre and post game radio shows and 103.3 FM. Local law enforcement and TDOT (Tuscaloosa Department of Transportation) officials will be keeping the media updated with any traffic related incidents such as wrecks or stalled vehicles.

Please be aware of ongoing construction taking place on the side of I-59 between the Mercedes exit (exit 89) and the Cottondale area. This will continue to affect both northbound and southbound traffic for the rest of the season. All lanes will continue to be open; however, the speed limit in this construction zone is reduced. When traveling to and from Tuscaloosa, please allow some extra travel time when planning your Gameday weekend. To avoid this construction, you can take Hwy. 216 (exit 100 off of I-20/59) and follow the Gameday signs to the stadium.

Post-Game Traffic Only

When leaving after the game, the Tuscaloosa Police Department will be diverting BOTH LANES of traffic traveling east on Bryant Drive onto 6th Avenue (before DCH hospital), leading directly to 15th Street. From 15th Street, the quickest route to the interstate is to take the I-359 route. Check out www.uagameday.com for the recommended post-game traffic routes from campus.

For a smoother egress, there will continue to be some one-way roads on campus including Campus Drive East and McCorvey Drive. Check out www.uagameday.com for the latest information on post-game traffic.

Post-game Traffic Tip: When traveling on McFarland to I-20/59 North after the game, stay in your right lane and follow the electronic signs to Skyland Blvd. Take a left on Skyland Blvd. and follow it up to I-20/59.

QUAD

A Jumbo Screen TV will be located at the Soccer Stadium, adjacent to the Student Recreation Center. This week’s game will be the only game televised on the Jumbo TV. Parking is available at the east campus lots for $10 per vehicle. There are Crimson Ride pickup and drop-off locations near this area that service the east campus parking area and drop off at The Quad, near the Gorgas Library. Click here to view a map of the Crimson Ride gameday routes. Enter the Soccer Stadium from the east main entrance in the Student Rec parking lot. The gates will open at 3:00 p.m. and remain open for one hour after the game. Fans can bring their own refreshments into the stadium. Concession stands will also be open.

With a record number of fans expected on campus this weekend, we will have an even larger number of restroom trailers and portable toilets located on Capstone Drive, just north of The Quad, off of 6th Ave., just east of The Quad, and off of 9th Ave., just west of The Quad. Click here to see a map of the restroom locations.

Gorgas, Rodgers, McLure, Bruno and Hoole libraries will all be closed all day on Saturday for the LSU game. In addition, Gorgas and McLure will close at 4:45 p.m. on Friday before the game.

There will be law enforcement personnel on The Quad this weekend for security and crowd control duties during the day. In addition, there will also be law enforcement on site at the Soccer Stadium (the location of the Jumbo TV) on gameday. In case of emergency, fans should call 205-348-5454 for the University Police Department.

Set up time for tailgating on The Quad is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The drop off time for tailgating on The Quad Saturday morning will be from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Tailgating or playing on “the Mound” is not permitted. Please help protect this historic area located on the northwest section of The Quad.

For fan safety and to keep electricity available to those on The Quad, here are some guidelines to use when tailgating on The Quad:

No crock pots

No “spidering” of electrical cords

No power strips

No coffee pots

No propane

Here are some other reminders while visiting The Quad:

No dumping of charcoal on The Quad

No unauthorized vehicles on The Quad

Please be tidy and don’t litter on The Quad

The Gameday Operations & Information RV will be staffed with both EMTs to provide assistance and Gameday staff to help answer any questions. This RV will be located in front of Reese Phifer Hall at University Blvd. and Colonial Drive (adjacent to the southwest corner of The Quad).

PARKING

NOTE: The “Crimson Ride” bus system post-game pickup spot is located on the northwest corner of The Quad. For pedestrian safety, the buses will pick up on the corner of Capstone Drive (behind Gorgas library) and 9th Avenue. These buses are free of charge and will run after the game for approximately two hours taking you back to the east campus lots. The buses will begin using the pre-game “Gameday routes” four hours prior to kickoff and will operate during the game. Before the game, these buses will take you from the east campus lots to The Quad. Please visit www.uagameday.com to view the Crimson Ride map with drop off and pick up locations on gameday.

With the large crowds expected on Gameday, don’t forget off-site parking is available with shuttle service to and from the game at the following locations:
- University Mall
- McFarland Mall
- Downtown Tuscaloosa

Please note that parking on sidewalks or blocking handicap accessible ramps will NOT be allowed. For the 2007 season this will be strictly enforced, and vehicles found in violation will be subject to being towed at the owner’s expense. Also, parking in post-game exit routes, transit lanes or areas indicated as “no parking” zones is prohibited. Violators are subject to having their vehicles towed at the owner’s expense.

I would advise you to either take over someones yard (pay) next to the stadium or go where Terry was mentioning. Crimson Ride will be there to shuttle you to the stadium.
