You act as if he played 10 yards off the entire UT game, he didn't. Nor did he play 5yds off the entire UF game, he didn't. It's an avg thing, it changes based on down/distance, the formation of the O, the players we're going against, etc etc. You also don't seem to know what scheme means, because alignment of the cushion isn't part of it changing a scheme. There was more change between VU and UF than there was between UT and VU...we actually went to a 3-4 for a while vs. UF...now that's a scheme change. Did he do that because of all the praise he got for the VU game? No, he simply is not changing his scheme for the fans' sake, he makes adjustments based on opponents and what he thinks will work. Bo said he isn't going to change, he didn't. Pittman says the scheme didn't change, it didn't. Williams said the scheme didn't change, it didn't. Prude says the scheme didn't change, it didn't. Miles just yesterday said the scheme is the same, it is. I'm saying it too, and it's the same. There are more instances of press positioning pre-snap...but that's part of his system. The players are capable of performing the D as it was conceived now. We had no blown assignments yesterday for the first game I've seen.
ignore this idiotic argument. he's been trying to sell this for weeks and even a pet rock sees a serious change. let him chart his tivo some more and get back to reality.
I shut your ass up quick last time, you finally chime in again when you get a hanger-on to give you confidence. It doesn't matter what we say anyway, this argument is as effective as the fans making the team change the way they play.
No one said the fans made the team change the way they play, Pellini is an experienced D coach and could see his scheme, technique or what ever word you want to hang on it wasn't working and he did in fact make changes. Maybe you can't see a difference between the first two games and now but the millions of us without impaired vision can.
I spoke to Bo the week after the Vandy game and did the little arm thing we do when the band plays the Chinese Bandits song. When he gave me a strange look, I explained that that is what we do when they play that song when our D stops their offense and told him about the Chinese Bandits. He said he had heard of the Chinese Bandits but did not know about that tradition. I then told him if the D keeps playing like they were, that they could start wearing red socks like the Chinese Bandits did. Now I am worried that I made that weird tradition up. Did the 1958 Chinese Bandits team wear red socks? If our guys start wearing red socks...blame me! By the way the Pelininis (sp?) are a great family and did a lot for hurricane relief. I am so glad that the D is playing so well. Do y'all do that arm thing when the band plays Chinese Bandits (wave them up and down in an mecca style homage thing) or is that just my husband and I? Yikes, I may be making up goofball traditions and saying all of the Tiger Faithful do that stuff.:hihi:
Here's an excerpt from an article. It says the Chinese Bandits wore socks with red tops. When the Bandits ran on the field for the next game, the PA announcer screamed., ''Here Come the Chinese Bandits.'' ''The student body stood up with their coolie hats and the place went nuts,'' Dietzel said. ''The first play off tackle a bunch of Bandits met the ball carrier at the line of scrimmage and the ball pops out and Gus Kinchen catches it in the air. He hadn't played offense before, so he didn't know what to do and he just goes straight down. They are still doing the Chinese Bandits chant and now the Bandits are running back to the sidelines. The P.A. announcer said, ''There Go the Bandits.'' Dietzel said the Bandits wanted different socks, so their socks had red tops. The rest of the article is here
Thanks, I thought I had heard that! My friend says that the Golden Girls do their hands in a Chinese fashion (palms facing in praying style) and bow during that song too. I am relieved because I am somewhat gullible (okay very gullible) and my husband tricks me into believing lots of goofy stuff. I thought I had told Bo a bunch of stuff that wasn't true.
