6) Iowa completing the hail mary to beat LSU last season was also a joke. :hihi: nah....j/k :hihi: :hihi: I agree with everything you just posted!!! :thumb:
Call em like you see Fisher... Simple observation...How many NFL RBs are of other than afro-american decent?
There are some real problems at the Air Force Academy with Evangelicals going way overboard (Colorado Springs is a hotbed of Evangelical activity)...I don't think it's the matter of praying, but pushing the holy roller type of praying that a lot of people find objectionable.
The ONLY question I would have for DeBerry is: Given the pathway of thought on the black/white issue of athleticism is strewn with the "dead bodies" of coaches and commentators who have gone before, why go there?
I blame senility. My 82 year old grandfather, never known for anything other than being a stoic, humorless, Baptist... just changed the message on his answering machine to one where he used a Mexican accent.
Yeah, I don't understand why this is making the news. It is pretty much a known fact that black people are faster and more athletically inclined than white people. Anyone who thinks that is racist needs to seclude themselves on a desert island and never leave. There is nothing wrong with making such a statement that is neither discriminatory nor false. If any white people have a problem with that statement, well, GET A LIFE!!
Here's some links to local coverage of Fisher's remarks. One is from the local paper, the Gazette and the other is from the Denver Post. My personal viewpoint is that it's much ado about nothing, but that seems to be the norm for the media in this age of political correctness. http://www.gazette.com/display.php?id=1311578&secid=1 http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_3151661
:rofl::rofl: What's his number??? We've GOT to hear that message!!! I have no clue why Fisher's comments are newsworthy. Maybe they should put his picture on the purple and gold rebel flag, just to "offend" some more eggshell sensitivity knuckleheads.
I always wondered as a kid how societies/individuals allowed themselves to ignore changes in prevailing/"official" mores leading up to atrocities, such as the Germans in the lead up to WWII. Obviously this is a far cry from that kind of progression, but it has been interesting to observe the development of such a change over the course of my lifetime. I remember the first time I heard the term "political correnctness". While I support the premises of those who have fought for civil rights for minorities, it will be unconscionable to allow being a bigot to become a crime. The state can't punish a man for his beliefs. This man could lose his means of livelihood for things wholly unrelated to his job. It presumably will not be due to state intervention that this happens but rather to presures brought to bear from the private, "special interest", sector. Still, a remarkable change in our society over the last 20 or so years. On another note, isn't it interesting that the comment itself implied nothing disparaging about black athletes. Quite to the contrary. He is getting berated not for saying bad things about blacks, but rather for daring to make sweeping generalities about a race, be it good or bad. We've crossed a line we shouldn't have crossed. BTW, my Col. Reb is actually Chris Walken from SNL skit. Colonel Angus. (say it with a southern drawl. Now faster. Faster. ) In best Lisa Simpson voice: "Please don't construe this as an endorsement of slavery."
