1. Auburn looked a little flat, USC came to play. AU talent and their coaching was the difference.
  2. I thought this game wasn't going to be close. This gives me hope that Auburn may actually lose a game this season or even two. Especially since they have to play 12 straight weeks. I'm guessing they were a little flat because of the short week.
  3. Bo Jackson is probably right--Auburn will not go undefeated this year. Of course maybe no one will, as in 2003.

Two teams so far have made them appear beatable. As the season wears on, they just may drop a couple in the SEC.
  4. Guys, watch the play again. The only reason the QB got rid of the ball so hastly is because the blitz was closing in quickly. It was that or take the sack. As a matter of fact, I believe he was drilled right after release.
  5. I guess it's the play call in general that is in question, not what happened on the play. If they run the ball away from the blitz on a bootleg then they at least have a shot at getting the first. Were they doubting that Auburn would bring pressure. I don't think so.
  6. Spurrier 4th and 2 from 30yard line----Field goal from 49 yard line.
    Tubberville 4th and 6 from 33 yard line---Pass for 1st down.
Miles 4th and 2 from 31 yard line---Punt for net gain of 11 yards.
  7. cry me a river.

Agreed. The overwhelming majority of AU fans predicted an 11-1 or 10-2 season, and I believe that's still the case. My preseason prediction was 11-1 with a lone loss to Arkansas.
  8. It's one of those calls if you make it you look like a hero and if not...

I just rewatched the play and he didn't immediately throw the fade (I don't think it was a designed fade rout, rather a last option), you can see him check his options and when he sees the blitz closing in, he get's rid of it. Otherwise, I doubt he throws into double coverage like he did.

    Watch it here...

  9. I'm pretty sure Spurrier says "Oh Crap" right when he threw it. At least that's what it looks like he said when they showed the replay.
