I want Florida solely because of the whole SEC Co-Champions thing, put the whole issue to bed once and for all. Conference Champion, Conf. Tourney Champion, and National Champion is a nice trifecta.
I don't want to choose either. Sure as you do that that team will whack you. Let them work it out. What have we learned this season. Same thing we learn but often forget in sports. Beware the gaudy record teams (minus Alabama). In almost any sport. Just means they probably weren't tested enough. Did you see the look on OSUs face since inning 7 of yesterday. Them boys were in shock. LSU won the sec with UF. Us and the cochamps likely meet up for the title. Not a coincidence. Sec you are tested every week. Eat or be eaten. Oregon state goes home in shock with their bats still on their shoulders wondering what happened. Hadnt faced adversity all year. Minus the pedophile.
I agree with your assessment. My reasons for wanting Florida are purely for bragging purposes, but they can bite us quick. After we dismantled #1 OSU in 2 straight games, I'd have to think we're the favorite at this point to win, and I like us better when we're the underdog.
Oh we won't be. Our pitching rotation is a mess. UF would be favored and tcu may just be about even money vs us only because no one would bet on tcu in general. Lsu might be a slight favorite because we are the Dallas cowboys of college baseball. A public team if there is such a thing in cbb.
Oregon State is our stupid little brother who we like to beat up. Our hated rivals are the Washington Huskies. gotta hand it to ya, the Tigers tore them beavers apart, well done
Well, here I am........my son has already been up to Omaha to watch LSU/TCU play their 1st games. Looks like a return trip will happen if TCU wins tonight. As for TCU, I thought the season was over when Luken Baker went down........shows what I know. I do know that first game against UF, JJ did not get the strike calls he got all year as he walked more in 1 game than he did all season. Throw in a couple of mistakes, very good UF pitching and there was a 3-0 loss. What drove me nuts was TCU refusal to bunt guys over given the pitching they faced. Throw in 4 guys being thrown out stealing, bad base running etc and it was easy to see why they lost. They dont sac bunt........could be bad strategy. They also run themselves out of plays too much for me, I think 9 so far in CWS. Lots of experience in Omaha for most of these guys, and they were the only team that beat Coastal Carolina last year. The game last night against UF saw timely hitting and ok starter pitching from 6'7" Tarver, then he flamed out in 4 innings. 6'5" Charles King came in and pitched his best relief of the year. TCU does have a really tall pitching staff.......not sure how much it matters but should they win I would expect 6'9" Brian Howard who would be pitching in his 4th CWS. Pitching has saved them in last couple of games, probably what will make the difference if they win tonight. Hopefully the Umps dont become a factor. Defense I think both teams are very similar with LSU faster in the outfield for sure. I do think with Freeman and Watson there is more speed than just TCU Nolan Brown. LSU bunts more.......way more. Trying to minimize my comments on both TCU/LSU forums during all this, I really do like both teams and should they play each other, I'm ok with whatever happens. Lots of comments on KFC.com about Robertsons hairdo and his looks. I chalk all that up to the fact he is obviously LSU sparkplug. TCU's "guy" is Skoug, very slow start until last night but at the end of the day, I dont think either Skoug or Robertson will be in any beauty contests but they are both energizing guys. Well, already down 1-0 so maybe all of this for naught anyway........
That was my whole thing, get out to an early lead and put the pressure on them. They aren't used to being in that situation and they folded. As long as our starters give us 6 good innings LSU should always be ok especially with a lead.
