Right. You can't let the game get out of hand early. Sometimes I think Mainieri stays with a struggling pitcher too long, or at least longer than I would have the patience to do. But then, I thought the same thing about Skip and look how that worked out. Damn, I wish Walker hadn't got hurt.
Exactly. I'd prefer they pitch to hit and let the defense take over. Walks will turn this thing into a bloodbath
Agreed. My hope is that Reynolds can keep us close for at least 5. After that, I think the rest of the staff can close them out.
If Reynolds can go 5 I suppose Bush would be next up. Can he or whoever else give us 2 until we get to Newnan. I hope we don't have to use Hess at all tonight. By tomorrow he should be back in prime time shape.
We couldn't lay wood, uh, aluminum on Singer's fastball in March but this is a much better hitting team now. The guys who faced Singer say his fastball has more movement on it than anybody else's they have faced. But what the hell, the Oregon State pitcher was undefeated until he got owned by hungry Tigers.
Dang - I am so jealous. One of my coworkers who works in the OR rearranged his schedule and is leaving for Omaha to see game 2. I wanna go!!!
