Zero returning starters with Walker out. Whether Hess can become the kind of starter Lange was is problematic. I heard Doug Norman a little while ago taling about how he thinks the Cubs plan for Lange is to make he a reliever because he gives max effort on each pitch and most starters that do that don't last very long.
