That's why I hate when people say we should sweep. 2 of 3 the goal while a sweep takes a lot of luck regardless the team. So 6 sweeps on opening weekend in the sec if ky held on.. So much for my theory.
DUPLANTIS.... On Monday earned National Player of the Week recognition from Collegiate Baseball magazine, and he was named SEC Player of the Week by the league office. Duplantis, a native of Lafayette, La., enjoyed a remarkable week, batting .425 (10-for-23) in five games with two doubles, one homer, 14 RBI, seven runs and a .536 on-base percentage. In LSU’s three-game SEC series sweep of Georgia, Duplantis batted .615 (8-for-13) with one double, one homer, 10 RBI, six runs and a .688 on-base percentage. He set the LSU single-game record for hits on Friday night versus Georgia when he went 6-for-6 at the plate with one double and a career-high seven RBI. In Game 2 of the Georgia series on Saturday, Duplantis launched a solo homer in the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie before extending the Tigers’ lead in the fifth to 4-1 with a bases-loaded, two-RBI single on a 3-2 count after fouling off several pitches. Duplantis is hitting .375 (33-for-88) this season with four doubles, two triples, one homer, 21 runs, eight steals and 28 RBI. LSU in the first week of rpi's is set at 17. Deservingly so as we are 1-2 vs top 25 teams, 0-1 vs 25 through 50, 3-2 vs 51 through 100 and 9-0 vs 101 through 200+ teams. Gotta actually beat somebody and of course, those who are not really anybody’s... Florida, after getting swept by the barn are 43rd in their rpi. So we gotta do more than just beat them on the road if we are gonna get any more respect. That said, we did move up after sweeping a weak dawg team, but there are those behind us that are tearing up the charts. Shit really needs to start coming together or our schedule is gonna expose us down the line.

Junior outfielder Drew Avans is hitting .333 with nine steals and 24 runs scored for SLU. NOT to be taken for granted. The lions swept UNO in a series just 2 weeks ago. Yet another mid-week test of the pen, but if we get on their pitching, we should be able to hold. Should. We'll see. Geaux Tigers!
Great description. Have you ever thought about becoming a sports writer? That really made the game come alive for me.
