I can sort of understand Lange's meltdown vs TCU even though as a junior who has pitched and pitched great in lots of more pressure packed situations than an early season tournament that is really a glorified preseason exhibition that counts on the record books he should be way passed all that. What I can't understand is him sucking vs Georgia in a game that should be routine for him by now.
Gonna be a tough series. We really need our pitching to be solid this weekend with some decent calls behind the plate. Florida is hitting .243 as a team so if we can keep them there, get some solid hits on some really deep fastballs, we should look good coming out of the swamps. Florida, despite their bats have the 6th best pitching on the planet right now, so we could see a series with combined runs under 20. But we gotta pitch and I feel Lange is gonna do well. Command is not all that tough this weekend with a team batting under .250, so I think velocity and defense is our key. We just gotta keep their bats cold and this thing will sort itself out. We have been struggling keeping bad hitting teams down and relying on having to outscore them. Fuck that, we need to shut these bitches down, slap the taste out of their mouths and get home with the series. We need this series more than the rest because we don’t have too many more road games against projected top 25 teams, so looking good on the road is more than mandatory.
Does that include teams like the Dodgers and the Mets or do you mean just college. LSU has a pretty damn good Friday-Saturday combo if they can keep it all together and straighten out whatever it is that is causing Lange to lose his superb control. Not familiar with the Gayturds staff but if we can win the first 2 FL probably still has a real good one for Sunday.
No different than a golfer with the yips or a Chuck Knobloch who can't throw to first anymore. And pitchers are fucking weirdos so it becomes exponentially mental. His brain is like a box of chocolates at this point. It's nothing physical so he needs to settle down. His two hour warmup isn't working.
