Josh Booty was an All-SEC quarterback that left early for pro football. He gave back a million dollar bonus to leave MLB and come to play quarterback for LSU. I'll never understand the animosity towards Booty from some folks. He damn sure doesn't belong on a "bust" list.

Smalling had size and talent. He apparently just didn't give a chit about football.

Why is it when you disagree with someone, you always say it is because they have hate and animosity?

So, based on my memory (which may or may not be good), Booty came in heralded as an All-American. The facts are:

Booty threw 17 touchdowns and 14 interceptions and completed 49.3% of his passes. It is true that he was 1st team All-SEC, but was a bust IMO based on expectations and his high school career.

Slip was the first Prop 48 Football Player at LSU.

That was a great 1986 signing class.

A few of those players are Football coaches now, an doing well(One coaches college, one the pros and one high school).

Two of the guys in that class played Pro ball, both were switched from their college positions.

Lots of trivia in that class. Anyone know those answers?

There was a big noseguard we got during the DiNardo days, I think his name was Torun Robinson. Think he was a HS All American, didn't do diddly here. Someone help me out on this one, please.

I know Harvey played some Tight End in the NFL. Was Brian Kinchen part of that class? He became a deep snapper in the NFL.

I think you're talking about Torran Williams, he came from Dodge City CC, he was from Miami, Fla. I still see him from time to time, he works here in BTR at Exxon. Good guy.

There was a Torun Robinson, out of McComb, Miss. he was a NG.
