This I don't understand. The truth about the articles he's posted? Is that what you mean? He's been posting about the textbook thing all the time and hasn't found an article, as of yet, that told the story correctly.
"But Saban’s arrival is being treated in these parts like the second-coming of Paul “Bear” Bryant." {Cary Estes} "Cary Estes is a contributor to MSNBC.com and a freelance writer based in Birmingham, Ala" http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20220603/page/2/
Yes, that's what I'm saying. The penalty ratio reflects exactly what this year has reflected. You've been averaging around 10 per game. Then, the team comes into an away game, a loud crowd, a lot on the line, and they repeat what they've been doing all year. LSU is the worst penalized team this year. Last year you finished averaging over 6 per game. In '05 you were last in the league with numbers close to what the team is showing this year. People always point to holding as some sort of comfort blanket. It wasn't holding that hurt you. It was a lack of concentration on the playing field. I don't want to get into some kind of smack war with you here...but, this is a trait that has been something you've dealt with, and are dealing with, for a few years now. The penalties is what cost you the UK game. It almost led to a loss here as well. I suppose the UK officials were home-cooked as well? I suppose all the refs in the '05 season were home-cooked as well? LSU has a hell of a lot of talent and that's why you are where you are today. Enjoy it. Talent overcomes mistakes in a lot of sports. But, you have to admit, it's not a one game thing or a "Tuscaloosa" thing. It's an LSU thing. In '04 you averaged 6 per game. In '03 you averaged @7 per game. It means something.
what specifically shocks you? i gotta tell you, i am shocked that there was not one single holding call against a gump o-line that gave up 7 sacks.
That even Red admitted here that the penalties have plagued the LSU team this year, and in the years proceeding this one. Using the "holding" line in an argument against refs is an old conversation. It's only called, and that's against any team, under circumstances where it has directly made a difference on the play. (I don't understand that, mind you) It's about like the WR pushing off a bit...it's part of the game, but a part that people want to bring up as some sort of conspiracy. I thought that was something that only Alabama fans dreamed up.
if you believe this tripe then you are a fool. watch the game again gump and watch your o-line.....you're losing your thinly-stretched credibility.
You must be absolutely blind. If LSU executes just poorly, instead of having the worst executed and sloppiest game in LSU history, then LSU wins by 21. Just like I've read and saw with my own eyes last night LSU's biggest obstacle to victory was themselves. Look at the offensive and defensive stats, :SU dominated. Then look at the penalties and unforced turn overs. I just watched the replay and I again saw an Alabama team that didn't deserve to be on the same field and an LSU team determined to keep Bama in the game any way they could. BAMA was very lucky not to be blown out of their own stadium last night.
No you're not. Home cookin' happens in every stadium in the SEC and you've seen it many times, as I have. The home team always gets better calls, it's one of the problems in SEC officiating. I'm not suggesting they are dishonest or favoring any team, I'm suggesting that they aren't completely impartial to visitors. The new video replays are revealing just how many bad placements, bad calls on possession, and missed fouls they make. And when you have a game where three reversals were made in the visiting teams favor, because the evidence forced them to acknowledge the error, it suggests something to me. If penalties were reversable, how many more errors would they have to acknowledge. When the called penalties go 90% in favor of the home team and 10% to the visitor, that suggests homer refs, amigo.
