The Bottom Line on offense:

I agree about Xman, who was at the game btw sitting in the stands, but does anyone remeber before the season how Miles kept raving about Trindon's ability?

to paraphrase: "That's gonna be the guy, he's gonna be running the screens and reverses, he has that game breaking ability" Where is he? I don't know because I am not at practice, I am more curious than questioning Miles personell decisions.

As for Bowe, I am not being hard on him, I think he is our best receiver and a great player, it just seems like he has not been able to be our go to guy in the red zone this season. I was thinking he'd have a Dwayne Jarrett type of season, but thus far he has not gotten into the end zone as regularly.

 

xman was still a track guy and not a football player. he had speed but ran in straight lines and really wasnt a threat because he lacked football instincts.

maybe he coulda matured into it like bennie did but it probably would have taken at least another year.


as for a leader? we need a running game.

 

We don't have coaches who fully utilize the talent on the team. PERIOD!

agree that we are missing that mauck, green, spears type of player on the field. I think our team reflects the attitude of our coach which is a sharp contrast to Saban.


Miles reminds me a lot of Dinardo's demener(sp) on the sidelines.

 

And exactly when will you begin to contribute?

 

It's hard to find a running back who can be a playmaker if you don't have an offensive line that blocks.

Wonder what's the deal with Keiland (i.e. why we haven't seen him much).

I mean, I'm all about a power running game--but for the power backs like Alley and Scott, you really need an O-line that can put a "hat on a hat" and just create that ever so brief opening so the big bruisers can pound away.

However, 6 games into the season, our O-line can't dominate in run blocking...so, IMO, a faster, shiftier runner (and in my mind, Keiland fits that mold) to be able to make the cut backs if the blocking isn't there. And with his size, it would appear that he has strong enough to break arm tackles.

 

His high school coach came by my office the other day and told me Keiland is still learning the sys. but coming along but damm, seems like he should know enough to get some touches by now, but I didn't play college ball so although I know it's a much more complicated system, I don't know all the "Ends and outs" so to speak.
