Just imagine him as LSU head coach with the athletes that we have at WR. Then keep WM as DC, Bobby Williams as assistant HC and this looks OK. Our defense is set and Muschamp is ready to have complete control over the D. Leach's offense would score, Muschamp's Defense would stay the same as it is now. :helmet:

Why is everyone assuming that Nick Saban's assistants would be retained if he left LSU? Most head coaches would have their own ideas about who they would want, regardless of how outstanding Saban's staff is.

I think any incoming coach would be foolish not to consider Muschamp as DC. But you are right, they would basically clean house and use their own guys.

Now if it's Leach, they best tell him to leave his entire defensive staff in Lubbock!

There's a pretty damn good Def. Coordinator who's just sitting at home these days and knows his way around Baton Rouge pretty well.

Some guy named Reese or something. Just because Gerry DiNardo canned him out of jealousy and Mack Brown because he needed a scapegoat other than his best friend Greg Davis doesn't mean Carl Reese can't coach.

I could definitely see a coach like Leach, who probably doesn't have too many good assistants or even a Davis, whose assistants may wish to remain in the NFL, keep many of saban's coaches. I don't thin kSaban would be looking to take all of these young assistants with him to the NFL, maybe Will if Saban was still going to call most of the shots. I have a feeling Nick already has his list narrowed down as to who he would bring with him.

And just think how much it would help this recruiting class if we kept most of these guys if we end up with a new HC.

No, you have it backwards, Leach "passes" :hihi:

But I'm with you. I don't like 50-60 passes a game. I prefer a brusing running game to go along with a good passing game (throwing more 10-20 yard routes with an occassional vertical ability), and solid defense.

Bumping this old thread I started weeks ago on Leach.

After tonight's shellacking of a top 5 team, he deserves the recognition.

"No one knows what the future holds," Leach said. "The only thing I'm sure of is the forward pass."

Yeah ... I agree with you Boston

Those 60 passes a game and that 500+ yards of offense against Cal & the great defensive coach Tedford (Dirk's old avatar ... the one he ditched "just before the game" ) ... those stats don't appeal to me either

    Gospel Truth, man

And a discreet inquiry about his interest in the LSU job
