We could have sent 10 this year but Vandy lost to Kentucky making vandy 4-7 on the year. However Kentucky is bowl eligible with that win. So the only teams not going to bowls are the Mississippi teams and Vandy. That's pretty damn good.
FYI - this appears to substantiate the info from the "random post" above: http://www.gatorzone.com/football/media/2005/pdf/21-22.pdf
The SEC should just add 2 more teams to the conference and have the 2 best teams at the end of the year play for the SEC National Championship game. Screw the media and the BCS!:thumb:
And I think Spurrier is showing just how good a coach he is. I know a lot of people hate him, but I have always liked Spurrier. SC is not by any means a very talented team, but every week he has them boys ready. They could very well have beaten AU, UT, UGA, and Arky. Played all of them down to the wire. And they still might beat UF. Watch out UT, UF, and UGA when he gets some talent over there. I think you will be playing for second place every year when he does. As he showed at UF, he not only wants to beat you, but he wants to embarass you. Gotta love that. I just hope MF (Miles' Fan) doesn't blast me for liking another coach.
Right. Not unless they area a 1-loss team and that loss comes early in the year (ala LSU in '03). I know that the schools love bowl games because of the $$$ and it's hard to blame them for being against a playoff...but there should be a modified system. The "Plus One" theory that was tossed around seems to be the best short-term solution.
