I have spent some time on a lot of opponents boards this season, and besides the usual smack talk, etc., there really seems to be a genuine fear of what the Tigers are capable of in a game. I grew up fearing the likes of Alabama, Georgia (remember Herschel??), Florida(Spurrier), Hell even Ole' Miss(we lost in '86 at home...depressing), and even Tenn as little as 5 years ago looked beyond our capabilites. And now, while those games are not always a lock (obviously), the majority of our opponents since 2003 truely are concerned about having to play us. And I don't mean the Fresno States of the world, but the Top 10 teams in the country. Most of the ND posters seem to be in agreement that they would rather play any of the Top 10 but us.

I no longer feel like LSU is living on borrowed time by being ranked in the Top 10, but that we truely belong there. Have we just grown spoiled overnight, or has there really been a perceptable shift of power in the SEC with us at or near the top each year?? I would like to think the latter.

Maybe reading other boards has made this finally sink in for me. Anyone else (over 20!) feel the same way??

41 here and yes, I feel the same. Spend time reading/posting in other forums too and even the teams that don't "Like" us do respect us. Saw a USC thread a couple of days back saying "this year LSU would win", they "preferred Michigan matchup to LSU" one even said "LSU will kill us". :rofl:

Well there are people on this board that can speak for this better then I can...but I love this time!!! I can't in my life time or even remember my parents talking about the nation "fearing us" So on that note...ya want sum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The other prominent line of smack on the ND boards is about how LSU is such an inferior academic institution that it's insulting their superior school has been matched up against us. They're saying things about, "At least OUR players can read, etc." Jerks...

Some of us would like to debate your feelings in the open forum so that we can understand your point of view. Maybe when you become a real fan of LSU you will step up and let people know who your are. I'm pretty sure I know who your are and what is sad for you is that you really think your hidden opinion matters to anyone on this board, but it doesn't. If you were to really have an opinion of any substance you would post it in the open forum and back it with conviction. Instead you hide behind closed computer walls and lash out at the real fans who express themselves openly so that others can debate their opinion.

You my friend are a sad little person who has very little to no objective thought process that will influence anyone but yourself.

PS: by the way go ahead and red on, for many of us really could care less about the rep system if the person giving the rep doesn't have enough conviction to back it with an identity.:dis: :dis:

Well SF, that may be the case. LOL. Although after a good nite sleep kinda realized that I may have been a little hard on whomever it may be. It occurred to me the sensitivity of the situation. Being an anonymous flamer the person may not be ready to come out of the closet yet. They may not realize that in this day in age it is ok. Flamers are a part of society that has been accepted for a long time now. If they wish to remain an anonymous flamer and stay in the closet I can respect that. LOL:grin: :grin:

the video has been taken off the ND board but you can find it on youtube.com. All it show is a couple of landry's biggest hits this year.

another thing about the ND board. A lot of the smack talk was coming from a gator fan and a razorback fan. I think that gave us a bad rep from the start.

and whoever gave me a red mark for being "that fan", I wasn't trash talking at all

The only relatively decent board I found had the worst interface in the history of message boards, and I could find no way to register and comment. So poo on that.

Wasn't it Marquise Hill that stated, "People better start respecting LSU or we are going to punch them in the mouth." or something to that effect in 03. I think people were listening.

Maybe we should post the LSU Boom video on Notre Dame's website.
