Yeah, you are right. If Flynn had let a couple more seconds run off before the snap we wouldn't have needed to kick off again. Still, it seems like it worked out O.K.

You mean 4 seconds? That's when the ball landed in Byrd's hands. I'm sick and tired of people who don't pay attention to the game and only listen to what the ignorant announcers say. As someone so eloquently stated earlier, it was probably due to the clock manager spilling his beer on that play that caused a couple extra seconds to run off.

It's not just hard for the opposing team to hear down on the field in Tiger Stadium. But yeah you're right our coaches suck sooo bad that we're 29-5 in 2.5 seasons with 1 SECCG appearance and 2 Bowl wins thus far with an average BCS ranking of 5 nationally. Damn wish the Saints had this coaching problem.

Thank the LORD I am not the only one who noticed that an extra 2-3 seconds ticked off the clock after the Byrd TD catch. I thought the timing of the play was perfect. We took a shot at the endzone and if it did not work out then there was plenty of time left to set up the field goal attempt. Perfect clock management to me.

I wouldn't go that far. There may have been a few seconds, but I don't think the play was drawn up that way. A funny bounce and that's game.

Exactly. There was total awareness of the clock situation. Check the replay and see how quickly Matt got the pass off. He knew he needed to save a few seconds in the event of an incompletion. Plus, had the ball been dropped, the clock stops and we still have a timeout. Even one second would have been plenty of time to snap the ball for the FG.

By the way, how about a few props for Colt David :thumb:

He had a great night kicking and he looked very confident. I was convinced he was going to kick us a winner....right up until that TD pass!
