In the first first the team was not playing with energy, and didn't look as sharp. I wonder if that forced the timeouts. I haven't looked at the replays, but I wasn't sure why a timeout was called before a field goal ?
More mindless negativity from the Grit. I'm starting to be conviced that you are a poser from Auburn.
Funny thread, I really enjoyed reading it! Yes, Colt David has really come through the last 2 weeks. He came really close at hitting that 57 yard field goal last week also.
Some posters on this forum need to implement a 24 hour rule. Don't speak or write until 24 hours have lapsed. If I didn't watch the game last night or read this mornings papers I would swear we got beat. Objective criticism is fair game and I've read a lot of it this morning. On the other hand, some of the stuff I've read makes me question the intelligence and loyalty of the posters who wrote it.
What was the score last night? Auburn won, right? THOSE DAMN AUBIES! I HATE TUBERVILLE! I WISH HE WOULD TAKE THAT DAMN A&M JOB AND GET OUT OF THE F'N SEC! I HATE LES MILES! OBVIOUSLY MY ONCE A WEEK FOOTBALL COACHING (on the Playstation 2) IS FAR SUPERIOR TO HIS 24/7 FOOTBALL COACHING. Oh wait, LSU won? Errr...uhh... nevermind. GEAUX TIGERS! Le sigh.
I saw that too. If he drops it we still would have had 2-3 seconds left on the clock. Im glad he caught it, cause i didn't want it to rest in the hands of Colt David.
Haven't you guys figured out that if we don't win every game in the toughest conference in the nation by 56 points or more that we're outcoached and our players suck? If we're fortunate enough to win the NC by less than 56, let see how many people we can get to bitch about that too. Doesn't that sound like fun? :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis:
I think going for the end zone pass play on 3rd down was a great call with 8 seconds left on the clock when the ball was snapped. I feel if the ball was dropped, the incomplete pass would have stopped the clock with one second left. Les could have argued with the refs that there should be 3 seconds or so left on the clock and got those seconds put back on the clock. But it really doesn't matter if there was 1 or 3 seconds, we still have one more play to kick the field goal. Another reason I feel the pass play to the end zone was a good call is because if Byrd is interfered with in the end zone on that play and the pass is incomplete, we get the ball on the one yard line and have a chip shot field goal. Even if time had run out, we still have the field goal attempt because a game can't end on a penalty. And looking at the replay one can argue that there was an interference on Byrd on that last play. The Auburn guy was all over the back of Byrd and wasn't looking for the ball. Just my thoughts. It was a great game! :thumb:
How can you be so confident that interference would've been called with the officiating in that game?
I am speaking from Les Mile's viewpoint about passing in the end zone instead of calling a play to get the ball closer for a field goal. An interference call wasn't called anyway, even though Byrd caught the ball. But I see your point, judging from the poor calling the refs made that night.
