what is up with those dudes? complete destruction of the team?

two world championships, multiple fire sales, a new stadium, no fans, wild swings from terrible to great. a franchise that is totally unique. i cant decide if they are brilliant or stupid.

stupid, one for building that stadium in little Havana, nobody with any sense is going to that neighborhood on a consistent basis to watch a ball game. Should still be florida marlins and the stadium should have been on the city limits line at Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.

do you think they will be good at any time during the next 5 years? this strategy has worked for them in the past.

They are much more relevant in that sense than my Astros and your mets for that matter. It's like some radical fucking moneyball strategy that hurts the game as a whole imo, but hits the jackpot enough to be considered sheer randomness. I'm always for an alternative approach. I would have liked jj, Reyes and buehrle just the same, however.

no they are pretty much a farm team right now. but who knows 5 years is a long time from now.

This one's getting so much negative attention, there's no way Selig approves it. Does he?

I think the marlins can start from zero and be closer to a World Series than the cubs or royals or aoe others. At least we know they try.

well those clubs are historically bad, so yes its easy to throw them in that ring.

Selig buries his head in the sand and pretends these things don't happen.

    why would he oppose them?
