Why, how divisive, judgmental, and narrow minded of you.

Whatever. My response was to point out the lie in the Beeb's comment that she said she would "vote against legalizing gay marriage at her confirmation hearing."

But this brings us back to an unanswered question, fortunately. You have said previously that there is no Constitutional right to marriage. And you have also said that the ruling erodes our basic rights. How does that work? Seems like you aren't sure if it is a Constitutional right or not. But that's why we have a Supreme Court . . . to clarify these things, n'est-ce pas?

Its hard to call a man who built a fortune of $9 Billion Dollars a moron. Maybe his business acumen is just what this country needs.

It never works out. Just like Mike Foster. He tried to run the state like a corporation and it just doesn't work that way. CEO's are accustomed to be dictatorial and getting they own way. They have little concept of the compromise and cooperation required to govern a diverse and huge constituency. They feel less responsible to the electorate. They get frustrated by the checks and balances system and in their haste, make bad mistakes. Just like with ex-generals, he success of business executives in their fields rarely translates into political success.

Trump is all about Trump. He thinks everybody is stupid and treats everybody that way. The best thing that Trump can do for his country is to pay his taxes and keep making money.

Wasn't most of Trump's wealth inherited?

Hell no. His dad was a successful real estate guy and they were well off but Trump made his own massive fortune through commercial real estate and savvy business acumen. He lost all of it and declared bankruptcy (business, nearly personal) in the 90's. He completely rebuilt his empire and is now estimated at worth over $4B.

I got ya. I hadn't meant to disagree with your comment, only to expound on her lack of forthrightness when I believe, she knew her own point of view very well.

I don't believe marriage should be a constitutional right. Civil unions, I can support. For me, the founding fathers laid out an incredibly simple and straight forward document outlining basic human rights and a process so that it wouldn't/couldn't be changed willy nilly. Was it perfect? No but it was surprisingly clear and since then, I agree with nearly all the changes and amendments. I don't believe that a right to privacy was ever intended and requires a definition regarding the issue of when a life begins. The SC, IMO, should stay the hell out of that business.....defining words and concepts.

Now we have the SC defining marriage and discussing concepts like intimacy. Again, for me, that lessens the value and importance of the rights already clearly defined by the Bill of Rights. I can't equate voting with marriage or assembly with privacy, etc. Now, if gay folks really believe in the loose definition of marriage that they have been advocating, I expect them to be at the front of the parade line to gain equal marriage rights for polygamists and polyamorists.

Because he's a moron? Lol. It was mostly to do with the Taj Mahal Casino and the declining economy. He financed most of it with high interest junk bonds and personal loans with post-dated interest. At some point, he was financed to the hilt and had no option other than the bankruptcy.

because his wealth is all mortgaged. he brags that he is worth 9 billion but it is also rumored that he is holding about 8 billion in mortgages, which actually puts his wealth at around a billion. A ridiculous amount no doubt but the Trumpster likes to embellish things.....just a little.
