Most of us aren't, thank goodness. Germans are more like Americans in many ways than the British even. The American armies in WWII on the northern European front noticed the contrast when they left France and the low countries and entered Germany. It was like going from the 18th century to the 20th. Germans are a lot more modern, pragmatic, and hard-working than the rest of Sub-Scandinavian Europe.
If only they could cook. Combine the Germans with the French and Italians and you get a bunch of hard working 5 star chefs.
