Trump is the Anti-Candidate of the Month. He came out talking tough, saying things (other than the McCain gaffe) many people wish they'd hear from their politicians. That results in a great poll bump for now, but it won't last.

Very few billionaires could come up with a $Billion in cash. Probably Bill Gate, Warren Buffet, and a very few others have assets liquid enough to raise that much quickly. And even they would have to sell so much stock so quickly that it would adversely affect the stock market. No way Trump could. His net worth is a house of cards and mortgaged to the hilt. If Saddam Hussein were still alive Trump might ask him for a loan. When he was on the run American soldiers found a billion of his cash.
I'm not suggesting he could do it tomorrow but he could easily have $1 billion in cash on hand by this time next year which is when he would need it. He currently has over $300 million on hand. Your statement that his fortune is a house of cards is pure speculation. His trouble properties have always been the casino properties.
