Alario gets an $8,000 raise for a part-time job, with no public comment?

"That's the way we used to do it," he says...

Nawth Looziana loses 1 G's worth of jobs that average $45,000 per year?

Kathleen responds with, "Regret and sorrow..."

Now, Juba Diez gets his butt beat out of Ascension and gets his hands taken out of the DOTD cookie jar as head of the Transportation Committee, and gets a plug $70,000 G job in DOTD that he actually created 3 years ago in case he ever needed a "Golden Parachute"...

What does he say in today's article in the Advocate about himself?

Why, the only thing you truly need to know about him, and the future of DOTD...

"I'm just a good old boy..."

Edwards went to prison on FEDERAL charges, so the old cronies can rattle on about how good an ol' boy he is all they want, but President Bush is the only man who can grant a pardon. And since Bush is a virtual lock to carry Louisiana again this election, and since most Louisianians want to see Fast Eddie rot in prison, there will be no pardon and any calls to the White House by this crew will go unanswered.

Say what you want...but there's no need to incarcerate a state treasure...

Edwin Edwards is a Louisiana icon...and he is a crook...He is a swinderl...He is the source of much of our pain...

But, our enlightened, far sighted-dare I say brilliant?-voting process by which EVERYONE runs and political party's and their power is blunted and limited, is an offshoot of Edwards and the power he wielded...

The man was a political genius...and none can debate that...The wittiest, wealthiest, most womanizing, funniest, dastardly, cold, calculating, and arrogant man to ever put his name on a ballot in the "gret stet uv Looziana" since a man named Huey Pierce Long...

To paraphrase Randy Newman: "He may be a crook but he's our crook."
