Nor should he. He is a slime ball and what he did is worse than any of those who took PEDS.

But none of his 4400+ hits were because of PEDs. Ty Cobb was a slimeball of a human being too.

How many games did he throw because of betting or gambling debts? No one knows and that's the reason he should be forever banned. His hit record is in the HOF.
Also there are players in the HOF who used PEDS. Speed is a PED and many used until it too was banned.

Gambling nearly destroyed baseball after the Black Sox scandal. This is why they take it so seriously. You can't have a player and a manager calling lowlife bookies from the clubhouse. Pete Rose bet on the games that HE WAS MANAGING.

He cheated in other ways, too: http://deadspin.com/5555714/this-is-pete-roses-corked-bat

Also, Rose is a degenerate and would have taken all the steroids he could get his hands on if he were playing in 1998. And running to first after a walk is stupid, "look at me" bullshit.

rose was great for the game. it gave white people another hero in a sport soon to be dominated by dominicans and black athletes.
but the gambling shit threatened the integrity of baseball in many ways. he can only get in if they let everyone in regardless their wrongdoings. which im fine with. its a place to honor past great baseball players. and to remember them and their impact on the game.

not great people. many of them just arent. but their legacy remains. address it, good or bad. but let the greatest who played in and recognize them. dont pretend they just didnt exist.

He should be in the Hall. What he did had nothing to do with what he did on the field. A man's transgressions don't erase his accomplishments.

not true just like any club especially the elite, there are rules which you will not like. He knew the rules. He pays the consequences. If its me, I want to recognize the best regardless.

Do those rules change what you did? Did OJ get kicked out of the hall of fame?
