I think that the most he could be charged with is Public intoxication or Disturbing the peace. It would be different if he had more of whatever it was he had taken in his pockets. He will most likely be given community service or made to pick up trash on the side of the road if he is charged at all.

This whole discussion is dumb. The guy is a QB at a premier football school. He's not some idiot Eastern Philosophy major with an English literature minor.

As long as the kid performs on Saturdays, what do honestly we care? Do we also comment on every music major that imbibes too much of the bad stuff? Of course not.

Actually, I hope all he gets is a good talking to. A QB with his work ethic will be good for at least 2 losses. Combine that with the play calling prowess of one Jeff Bowden, man they are in for a really mediocre season. :thumb:

The drug rap is a dead end unless you catch him with posession of it or in the act of abusing it. He still has the "someone must have put something in my drink" parachute. He can also play the "I need help and I'm reaching out" card with the NCAA - hell, they might even grant him another year of eligibility (see OU Thug).

Being that it is F$U, I expect to see this kid actually get it together and have another shot.

I would much rather sit and watch the 2006 BCS Championship and hear about how Sexton overcame a night when he was in the street in wet boxer shorts making snow angels in the concrete and proclaiming to be God than have to hear about how Matt Leinart overcame being a chubby cross-eyed child for the 6,531st time...

    hypocritical? hmmm...

    here's my stance:

right is right and wrong is wrong... there is no grey area here, or there shouldnt be at least...

but maybe thats just how I was raised?

This kid is in the spotlight at a major school.
I believe he should be reprimanded.

If it were any other kid, underaged, drunk/high in public... they would be punished without a doubt.

Just because you play football does not (or should not) make you invincible to the law. I think this point should be made.

I work for a hospital right now and with HIPAA law, hospitals aren't supposed to release information on a patient, even their presence at a facility, unless authorized by that person or their guardian. So if even they did or didn't follow protocols they aren't going to release any patient information.

A newspaper or media outlet could file a Freedom of Information Act petition with the law enforcement agency for documents pertaining to the case that are public information. But even in that, a person's medical information is confidential.

"Wyatt is under the care of physicians for a medical problem, and at this time he will remain under their care. His doctors have informed us that drug abuse is not the problem," Billy Sexton said in a statement released Thursday morning.

"Coach Bobby Bowden is on vacation, Wilson said, and he wasn't expected to be back in the office for about three weeks".

    Hmmmm...

My understanding is that it's not illegal to have the drugs in your system, only if you have some of it on your person, not in.

Also, they said he was having a tough time dealing with the stress of being a QB. Let the kid have his break every now and then. :hihi:
