PAC12 fires 40% of it's football referees. Scotts' the man ! "Pac-12 reviews new officiating structure and playing rules at media day" | Oregon Football with Rob Moseley | The Register-Guard
....Corrente said the "most controversial" rule change is one limiting blocking below the waist. Linemen can only do so against players in front of them or in the direction of the nearest sideline, and other players are limited as well, by a set of elaborate schematic guidelines. The rule is so complex that, at a recent seminar for the conference's officials at Stanford, Corrente spent 4 1/2 hours reviewing its details.... This sounds like trouble. Any idea how this would translate to ooc games?
I'm curious about it as well. It's an NCAA rule, not a PAC 12 rule, but it seems to be a rule that's wide open to interpretation by the official. That "missile" block that John Boyett likes to do (Where he hurls his body in front of a would be tackler), that could be construed as an illegal block this year. We'll see...
The last time LSU and the Ducks played........1977, LSU won 56-17 Some of the players from the 77 team....... Steve Ensminger (The TE's coach) David Woodley (RIP) Charles Alexander Robert Dugas Barry Rubin (The Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Philly Eagles) Pat Lonergan (P.J.'s Dad)
I wonder if Pat is telling his, "I beat Oregon, can you?" "better not be the Lonergan that loses to Oregon son"
Around that time we played UOP (University Of the Pacific) and I remember looking at the schedule and saying "Oops? who's that?"
In 1977, Oregon didn't have a team yet. We're Johnny come lately's to the party. Back then we got beat by everybody! Oregon only won 2 games that year: Texas Christian, and Oregon State (Who was in the middle of their 28 straight losing seasons!)
