Heard about him last week. 35 yr old amateur won some trny to get in. Not only made the cut at a billion to one odds but was in 2nd alone before the last hole on day 2.

At least I hope that's the same guy I heard about.

All of his clubs are the same length as a 6 iron. Not sure how he makes that work but I guess he does

Must be. Pretty sure I heard someone say after day one that he was quoted as saying he outplayed Jordan by a lot and he has already said "I will be the world #1 eventually" pretty strong stuff. I want to like him but the snobby french side of him just won't allow me to.

Oh shit. I liked him before hearing that.
I'm digging the tweed Ben Hogan cap though. Pulling for a collapse now.

You're talking about Sammy Schmitz. He's still got a good story ... hit an ace on 15 (4 par) to give him a three shot lead with three to play ... did play his way in from one of the mid-amateur. The rest of the group are 22 years or younger.

Oh this Bryson dechambeau is a piece of work from smu. He's currently writing his name backwards and in reverse to train his brain for God knows what in this tournament.
This is going to be a glorious collapse. I hope he and Sergio are paired up.

    Rory got this btw.

Unlike a lot, I really don't pay a lot of attention to color commentators for football, basketball, etc. Golf is a bit of a different story.

The most over-used phrase this week has got to be "Georgia Pine." Geez, there's at least five different types of pine trees on the course ...
