yeah, the "throng" did this. the fan base collectively got together and planned this. 50,000 people gathered to pull this off. there was even tailgating before it. 25,000 got knives and the other 25,000 were lookouts. good job, throng!!!!! this guy is a d-bag.
i think this article is worse than any guilbeau one. premise of the story is unprofessional--that "LSU fans" want clm to win big or else. was there a reference to some poll i missed. or even fan quotes? or quotes from people that have their finger on the heartbeat of LSU fans (LSU Ath Dept, or local sportscasters?) unprofessional to bring up slashed tires like it was a mob occurrence. agree with previous posts about other sec schools with more wins, winning with nicks players, most talent in sec another lazy journalist that brings up the so. cal win over arky without mentioning that it was the first game of season and mcfadden was basically not there. another lazy journalist that brings up clm being the only lsu coach to have b2b double digit win seasons. teams good teams play 13/14 games now. wouldve happened to several coaches in lsu's history if there had always been 4 nonconf games, 50 million bowl games and a seccg. thats like making a big deal out of "the earthquake" game---any decent sized football stadium will register on a richter that close. and if he knew his stuff wouldnt he have said the tape would go to the bottom of the mississippi? but what else should we expect from a website that has a link "Notre Dame Central"?
I'll have to disagree with you on at least one level. You're right when it comes to the 18-35 year-old crowd. Older fans are very different and I'll probly catch some heat for sharing this opinion. Older Bama fans have a more mature attitude in regards to relating to the opposition. Older Bama fans are much more passionate about their football. And they're much more knowledgeable compared to the older crowds on gameday in Baton Rouge. The older LSU fan base is largley a bandwagon crowd, where were all these big-money guys in the '90s? I've been to 5 LSU-Bama games in Tuscaloosa, there's no comparison about who the best fans are when it comes to the old timers.
Thank you........I think. Did anybody see my geritol? True. See how it only takes for one off handed, misunderstood comment to grow into a false internet legend. Just like the "brick story."
That sounds like barn fans to me. After they lose a couple of games to Bama, Barn fans are harder to come by than Sasquatch. They win a couple and you can smell moth balls all over the state.
I was going to post this in the other thread but Red locked it...so I guess on Saban thread #3245 Ill give my opinion: I'm not sure why people don't think he won't be successful at Alabama. As for the Dolphins deal, as a Fins fan, he did a good job. He did not fail. God would have struggled to field a Wild Card team with those guys. Ever heard of Cleo Lemon? Didn't think so. The media down there and everywhere portrays him in a bad way because he treats them like three year olds. Sometimes deservingly so. Pete Carroll sucked in the pros, but his personality fits in with his environment and his talent covers some of his flaws. Saban can/will continue to recruit well. Living near and all around Alabama fans, I can promise you he is a perfect fit. Bama fans have seen what wins and loses game. Mainly, with the fan base and environment that is in TTown, they need a guy who is a no nonsense man that doesn't give a **** about anything but football. Bryant and Stallings were those type of guys. I don't think Bama will reach a Florida of the nineties level, but they will be a top 15 team years in and year out...and so will we. Like Redick, we wouldn't talk about him if we didn't know he was good.
