RUSH IS BACK!!!!!!!! The full opening show of the tour is up on YouTube, and I have to say I find Annika a worthy sub for Neil. She does her own thing, but knows when not to make changes. Great example below, the fills coming out of the guitar solo on Tom Sawyer, which is Neil's most signature moment, and she nails it. I have tickets to the Sep 25 show in San Antonio. I just booked my room last night. So pumped Anika is killing it. And with Loren Gold they just sound fuller.
The good thing about all this is (and yet I feel bad about thinking it), is I don't think this tour would have happened if Neil were still with us. From how they talked about the R40 tour - the build up to it and decision to even go ahead with it (are you familiar with Neil's "night of a thousand f**ks" story?) and the toll it took on him, I can't imagine that he would have agreed to tour again. Nor do I think Alex and Geddy would have "moved on" from Neil and brought in a drummer to replace him if he were still alive.
