Nah. Techno is an electronic music genre. Like Classic Rock to rock music or Metal. At first it was considered the basic name for any kind of electronic music. But that was in like the 80's and early 90's. since then there have been tons of genre's emerge like trance, house, dubstep etc.
Yep seriously. Me and a buddy been looking for some local underground dj prep dj trashy you probably neve heard of. We called it techno. had a collection of cds of his and others you used to find at these off the wall places and we lost them. We each had some in storage somewhere. Found a few sites that uploaded them. I got a long list I'll have to post when I check. Some current I guess considered dubstep like blue foundation - zed dead remix which I like alright.
I've been an electronic dj and producer for 20 years man. I can turn you on to some good shit if you want. Seems like you like trance and breaks.
